Issues with Mainstream Media

When did Mainstream Media become the Star Magazine of TV? All of the news shows lean toward drama, it doesn't even matter what the truth really is, for me watching just 15 or 20 minutes leaves me totally ticked off, I find myself yelling at the TV, my blood pressure goes up 50 points and in the end, I still don't know what's really going on.

The reporters try to act as if they are unbiased, are you kidding me, they are really bad actors, they actually believe they are fooling the audience into thinking that their questions and remarks aren't slanted toward a guest or one issue or the other. For instance, Lou Dobbs from CNN, he says that he is for the middle class, when Bush was still president he was on a tear about what his administration did to this Country, the economy and the middle class and how something needs to be done to get credit flowing again, help hurting homeowners, job creation, yadda, yadda, yadda. Now he is denigrating President Obama for trying to do exactly what he was demanding on his show. So now the problem is... he is spending too much money - well how our we suppose to create jobs, help homeowners save their homes and get credit flowing again if money isn't spent. pleaaaaaaaaaaase! Enough!

I realize that ALL the media outlets are Drama mongers, who has the highest ratings, best show on TV - the more they stir the pot the better for them, but where is the real news, the truth, when we as an audience have to spend mental effort to decipher the truth out of their Staresque reporting it's time to turn them off. They are actually creating and inciting the worst in some people to act out based on what they report and the way they report it. I do get fired up but I also change the channel and eventually calm down, but what about the people who get fired up and don't calm down? Example, when during the campaign, Palin was saying that Obama was a terrorist, later at another rally a Lady said to McCain that he was a terrorist, a Muslim - another rally when others were yelling out in the audience to kill him.

When twisting words to create drama or skewing the truth to suit an agenda such as high ratings or winning a campaign takes over maybe it's time to let them know enough is enough.

I will be pounding on the news makers on other issues in the coming weeks, my next peeve is the advice segment, one in particular...advising people who are looking for a job. Are you kidding me, a $200,000 year reporter giving advice to us out of work saps.
